Ties may result in "sing-offs" in a bonus round.
ROUND 1: "Open Mic" This
is a trial round allowing contestants to
try out their song, get familiar with the mic, stage, audience etc.
But beware, even
though you won't be scored, you could get gonged! Gonged contestants
in Round 1

BONUS ROUND: In the event
of a tie in Round 3, a bonus round may be called
where each contestant will engage in a "sing-off." The highest scoring
contestant
based on their bonus round performance will win. In the event of another
tie,
the audience or producers will cast the deciding vote.
GENERAL
GUIDELINES / RESTRICTIONS / RULES:
Contestants are encouraged to be creative, unique, and absolutely
entertaining - they must not only satirize the act of
singing itself, but do so
in a manner which is interesting enough to prevent their
being gonged. This
includes, but is not limited to, costumes, dances, group
configurations, horrifying vocals, general concept, etc. Contestants
are strongly
advised that they will be laughed at by the audience
and subject to possible
judge commentary. Thick skin, a good sense of humor,
and a strong sense of self-parody are all highly recommended for
this
event.
Unlike other contests, audience participation is allowed, within
a certain degree of sensibility (however, audience members are
not permitted
to
join the contestant on stage). Contestants may not behave in
any inappropriate manner that otherwise violates Celctic Harp or Dee
Jay Network conduct
policies, including (but not limited to) the following: nudity,
inappropriate costumes, pornography, weapons, profanity, etc.
In accordance with Celctic Harp/Dee
Jay Network sign policy, signs of any type are not permitted
unless
constructed specifically for the purpose of the contest. Contestant
must stop performing
and prepare to leave the stage when the fateful gong has been delivered.
Contestants who violate these rules may be pulled from future competitions
and deemed ineligible for any prizes.
The Dee Jay Network and
Hosting Venue (Celtic Harp) reserve the right to modify these rules
at any time without notice. If you have any questions, please send
us an email:
